Black Earth got six runs on four hits in the first inning and never looked back as they went on to defeat the Twins 9-3 in Thursday's Night League opener.

Black Earth could not get a run across in Sunday's opener and Mazo's Jon Adair got an RBI single in the seventh inning to plate their only run, which was good enough for the win.

 
 
 
Make-up Date Set for Caz At BE

The Cazenovia at Black Earth game, originally scheduled back on May 6th, will be made up on Friday, June 15th in Black Eath at 7:00 p.m.

Bryce wins batting title, league MVP

Bryce Barsness took home a couple of awards at this year's HTL Awards Banquet on October 9th. Bryce finished the season with a .475 batting average, which was good enough for the Northern Section batting title. He also earned the Northern Section's MVP award. Pictured below is Bryce accepting an award from league commissioner, Pat Reily.

 
 
 
2011 Championship Series

Cross Plains defeated Dodgeville on September 11th, which resulted with both teams finishing round-robin play at 2-1 and forced a decisive championship rematch on September 18th in Dodgeville. Verona Wins HTL Night League Title

Verona had won three consecutive HTL Sunday League titles but would not win a fourth straight as they were upset in the Western Section semi-finals by Ridgeway. However, that did not stop the Cavaliers from going on and winning the 2011 Night League championship. On Wednesday, August 31st, Verona hosted and defeated the Orfordville Orioles, 4-0. The Night League Final Four is different from the Sunday League. In Night League there is no round-robin format. Just a semi-finals and finals are played. This year the Eastern Section champ played the Central champ and the Western champ played the South champ and the winners played for the title.
